Children

At Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church, we believe our children are in the privileged position of being brought up in covenant homes.  We see it as our responsibility to bring God’s word to them from a young age.  As a result, we have a variety of ministries for our children and teenagers.

We offer nursery services each Sunday to any families with young ones (3 years and under) that need care during our Sunday school classes and worship services.

Before the morning worship service (9:30am) we have classes for all age groups.  In these classes, we study the Bible, memorize verses, and learn key doctrines.  During the children’s classes there are also Adult Sunday School Classes covering various topics such as Biblical doctrines, church history, and topical issues.  There are nursery services provided during the adult Sunday School Class.

Children in the church are encouraged to memorize scripture and we have a scripture memory program to promote this and reward children for their memory work.  As well as that older youths have the opportunity for mentorship from an older member of the congregation.  To foster relationships between children and older members of our church we have an adopt a grandparent program where older members are paired with families in the church.

During the summer, children from the congregation and their friends enjoy a week of learning, games, and crafts designed to increase their understanding of and love for scripture.

During the school year, young moms with their infants meet twice a month for a midweek book study.  There is a concurrent preschooler’s program where their kids learn a Bible story, sing, play games, and make crafts.
